About Our Tools
Moss & Thistle Farm has a small workshop dedicated to creating handmade tools and goods inspired by traditional crafts.
We believe the objects we use every day should be functional, durable, and enjoyable to hold. Whether it's a weaving tool, a handcrafted wooden item, or materials grown and gathered from the farm, every piece is made with attention to detail and respect for the craft it supports.
Our focus is simple: create useful things that are built to last.
Many of our tools are created in collaboration with experienced basket weavers and traditional craftspeople. Through years of observing how tools are used in real workshops, we've refined designs to improve comfort, durability, and performance.
Rather than mass-producing tools, we make them in small batches, allowing us to pay attention to the details that matter—comfortable handles, balanced proportions, and carefully selected wood.
Whenever possible, we use locally sourced hardwoods and responsibly harvested materials. Some wood comes directly from Moss & Thistle Farm, while other pieces are selected for their strength, beauty, and suitability for the task.
We prioritize quality over quantity. We advocate for repairing tools instead of replacing them. We cherish traditional crafts that link individuals with natural materials and the wisdom of past generations. Our aim is to create tools that become reliable partners in the creative journey.
